Review on CORSAIR CARBIDE Mini Tower Window - Enhance SEO by Robert Cole

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really solid construction, very snug fitting.

Moved my gear to this case and so far I'm really liking it. In person, it's actually a lot smaller and more compact than you might think. I switched from a Corsair 300R, which is a few inches taller and about an inch thinner; This shorter squatter case is a really nice change of pace. Airflow is really good as there are no optical drive bays and the hard drive bays are hidden under the PSU shroud. As for other functions, the magnetic dust filters are really high quality and awesome. The front panel is difficult to remove, but once assembled it is unlikely that you will need to remove it. The swing door is really good; easy to open and even remove if you wish. One thing about a transparent record is that it almost always carries static electricity. So if you do open the door to peek inside, you might want to shoot your fingers into something else before turning off your fancy GPU. Also in this case there is really good airflow as there are no obstructions, especially with two 140mm air intakes at the front and one exhaust at the top/rear. But back to the space issues. The PSU shroud keeps things nice and tidy (good for airflow and looks since the entire side panel is a see-through window), but manipulating the shroud itself is such a hassle. It fits the bottom of the motherboard very snugly, and if misaligned or overcrowded, it puts a lot of pressure on the thinner connectors on the bottom of the board. I STRONGLY recommend that you use a fully modular power supply with this case as you probably won't be able to stuff a full set of unused cables under the cover while removing the hard drive bays in place and the cover from the case let way of your motherboard. I was able to fit a 240mm radiator on top, but that was also very tight; Depending on how pointy your motherboard heat spreaders are or the size of your memory cards, you may run into a few problems. There's plenty of room on the front to install a heatsink, but then you're missing out on great case airflow. BUT - when everything is in place everything looks great and works great.
