Review on Dremel 108 Engraving Cutter 32 Inch by Jeff Rhodes

Revainrating 4 out of 5

*drum roll* In 2 days we have. Not what I expected?

I bought this along with buying a Dremel, 105 bits and one of the extra Dremel rotary shafts (I highly recommend this btw. Much easier) But I digress. This 108-bit is pretty cool. I do a lot of micro cutting and detailing and this allows me to do it. The product photos didn't show the tip in as much detail as I expected and I didn't quite realize that it was square, more triangular. Sharp flat tip tapering towards the stem. I subtracted a star for lack of detail, trying to better show tip details for anyone who is blind (or too busy to find low prescription school glasses which you very rarely need. Life happens). Honestly, I expect to hate this because I'm not a fan of change. When I order something, I imagine what I'll get, and that wasn't the case. I like it. Not for the same level of detail I was expecting, but I believe once I get over the slight learning curve it will provide great contouring and subtle angel hair-like detail. The price is about the same as everywhere. the rest in the store. So it's pretty cool when you save money on gas with Prime's free shipping. Although the Dremel brand is known to be more expensive than many other brands, there is no need. I have only found one brand with QUALITY and affordable super small bits. Ahh, and I literally can't find her anymore. Otherwise for base bits, sharpening stones, polishing bits, larger bits. But from the brand. In most cases there are nominal differences. For super small bits, I buy a brand name. They tend to last a bit longer and are often hard to find in Dremel bit sets, which often contain a ton of stuff I don't use often. So it was worth it. These bits will fit any rotary tool or shaft, regardless of brand. Very few brands have different ends, but they make collets that usually come with almost all 3rd party brands as they expect their users to match the Dremel brand nibs. Super cheap. Sometimes it's worth it. I will say it arrived 2 days after supposed delivery which is a Revain issue and not necessarily a product issue. Revane was contacted and was very nice and helpful. But it definitely added to the experience of the product.
