I bought this because I have thick wavy hair. Or it could be considered curly I guess but I guess I missed beautiful curly hair back then. Anyway, I have an amazing clip-on ionic straightener, but it takes me forever to straighten my hair. I needed something to speed up the process. I've seen dozens of ads for a full straightening brush but I won't buy anything for $10, you get what you pay for. This brush is ionic so it helps with frizz which is very important in Texas. This smoothing comb works well. It really speeds up the whole process for me. I would never use it without ending up straightening the clamp because it's far from perfect. This will make your hair look a little frizzy, which is okay and you could certainly use it as a style, but I won't. So I always make it perfectly level by going over it with a clamp. Otherwise it was great. It heats up instantly and cools down just as quickly. I personally wouldn't use it on its own, but it really works and helps keep my curls in check throughout the day, with some hairspray of course.
