I'm now installing a second set of these rails. The first set lasted at least 2 years. We've been doing some construction recently and the whole house has gotten very dusty so I'm looking to replace them with new liners although they will probably hold up well in the wash. They are in very good condition. During my weekly cleaning, I used a stiff-bristled brush to clean and aggressively swept these carpets to remove dust from the sides. Wow, they never look worn despite being cleaned so often! The edges of the pair themselves are starting to weaken, but that doesn't affect their function in the slightest. Since many people walk on our stairs every day and two teenagers are constantly running up and down, a wear test was carried out. intense, and they passed. Glad to see the gray and try the gray for my second setup. My staircase is curved so it takes some work to make sure they all fit evenly, but it's worth it considering how they turned out! Visually identifying each step is also very helpful in reducing the risk of falling. Great, great product! The sticky backing will not damage the stairs. I used some kind of clear tape on our wooden staircase in the basement and I'm not happy with it. It's peeling, blistering and I think it has damaged the finish. I'll try to clean and then install the black liners on the stairs to the basement once I've installed the gray ones above. Highly recommended.
