I bought this chair to fit my small stature. I'm 5'4" (average height for a woman) and I'm fed up with anything made for tall people. the backrest can be straight relative to the back of the chair and (2) short enough to fit my feet can stand on the floor without putting pressure on my feet. The shallow depth of the seat is perfect for my height which suits me. , the chair doesn't go deep enough for my feet to rest comfortably on the floor. Even in the lowest height there is still pressure on my legs when my feet are flat. Since the chair doesn't go any lower, I decided to remove the wheels to get an inch or two closer to the floor. This works great! Now I have so a chair that fits my height perfectly but it's no longer a wheelchair I agree with. I recommend this chair for short people but no less than 5ft 3" otherwise it will probably still be too tall. Others Things: - It h at no lumbar support which I'm a fan of. I hate lumbar support! - The chair leans back. Not only the backrest of the chair tilts, but the entire seat (which I like). You can lock it against tilting by pressing the height adjustment knob. Consistent with other reviews, I agree that the seat of the chair "deflates" and becomes less comfortable over time. It feels pretty good on my first sit of the day, but it doesn't take long (an hour?) to crush the pad. I think they could use a firmer foam for the seat to keep it up during the day. However, this is not a big problem for me. Some reviewers say the texture of the fabric is like sandpaper. They are super dramatic. This is a grid. It's like the mesh patches on sneakers. Even in shorts I find it a nice texture. If that really bothers you, wrap the seat with a scarf. Overall, I'm just glad I finally have a chair that fits my body!
