UPDATE 7/25/2021. After switching to another T-Mobile MVNO and testing this phone again, I found that VoLTE worked fine. I think my previous MVNO just sucks; I had many other problems with them. My apologies to all readers for my previous false statement. I can now recommend this phone unreservedly and have accordingly received my 5 stars back. Volte. This means that as of 2021 it will no longer operate on the T-Mobile network, including any T-Mobile MVNOs. Due to AT&T VoLTE's whitelisting system, it will no longer work on the AT&T network from 2022. It's a shame as the specs are truly amazing for the price, but due to the upcoming VoLTE requirement I can no longer recommend this phone for use with US GSM operators. OLD REVIEW: Will the Cubot X19 compare well to a $1,000 flagship? Of course not. However, I am confident that it will outperform most similarly priced models from established brands. First the cons: the speaker isn't great for gaming/multimedia, although standard voice calls are fine. The body is made entirely of plastic. Battery life isn't as good as the Huawei Honor 7X that it replaced. The default camera app is the worst I've seen. However, none of these shortcomings are decisive. I'm not a big fan of music/movies/gaming on my phone and I use good headphones when I do so a weak speaker isn't a big deal. Inside the case, the plastic case doesn't get in the way too much. Battery life is still pretty good; 7X was just exceptional. Bad camera app? Install Open Camera, problem solved. Where this phone shines is with bang for the buck, and the specs are excellent for VERY inexpensive hardware. I paid $80 more for the Honor 7X and the X19 bypasses it. It also runs on a very clean version of Android without the hassle of a vendor. Again, this is a cheap phone, not a flagship. Although compared to other smartphones in this price range. and for many budget phones under $200 or so. it is really excellent.
