I came back to get 2 more of these. not because they don't work, but because I want them in all three of my tanks. I've used the glass float style for years, but this one is just as accurate and much easier to read. The only downside is that I find the suction cup on the back of the reader a bit difficult to attach to the device. To update. According to this post, none of the ones I have are working yet. They appear to be shorting out and flashing on and off after about 2 months. I've reverted to the suction cup/magnet hanging type until a later date when I can get a riff controller for my tanks.
