This is a good post box but of course my postwoman puts magazines and newspapers in the locked part of the post box which makes it easy to remove mail from the slot if it is higher than the slot. This mailbox is used to store newspapers and magazines under the mailbox with locked mail. It must be rolled up and inserted into the long square hole there. The door does not close easily enough to lock the mailbox after you have removed the mail. Don't get me wrong, the lock works but seems easy to pick or open without a key. Closing the door to match the lock is not difficult. You must use two hands. One hand holds the key in the lock and the other hand holds the door in the right place so that after the key is turned the lock catches and stays closed on the top edge of the mailbox. I installed this mailbox before I rated the door and lock so I did not return it. Admittedly for the price of this item it's a great value that does what it's supposed to do even if it doesn't feel like it. I live in an apartment building, so the lock is enough to keep three neighbors from digging through my mail. If you're looking for a real mailbox with a lock, I'd look further and pay more for a duplicable key box; not the keys I have, which are more like keys to a suitcase. Much luck!
