Review on Enhance Home Security with Kwikset 99070-103 Powerbolt 2 Keyless Entry Deadbolt in Venetian Bronze by Ronnie Segobiano

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The auto lock is the highlight of this product

I bought this during the Prime Day sale because the day before I texted my kids to PLEASE lock the door when they leave the house. A house. When I come home from work there was always a 50/50 chance the door was locked. The keyboard feature on this one was just an added feature that made it an even better buy. I have keyless entry to the car, but I always pulled the keys to lock the door. Now I can keep my keys in my purse and get in and out of the house. You can define your own code with a length of 4 to 10 digits for this view. You can even have different codes for different people, so you can deactivate one as needed. If you need someone to enter your home once, you can give them a one-time code. What I like best is the self-locking feature. With this function you can turn it on or off and you have the option to decide how long the door should be locked if it is not manually locked 10, 20, 30 seconds. Now when the kids leave, they can just press the lock button or let the door lock by itself. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I would like it to be a bit quieter when it auto closes. I don't know if other locks sound different, but when you manually lock the door you can hardly hear anything, but my guess is that the mechanism needed to operate the lock is making noise, or maybe it only seems at 5 being loud in the morning when everyone else is asleep. The keyboard lights up when the keys are pressed. Another thing that would be nice would be for the keyboard to light up when you approach it so you can see the keys before hitting the first one. However, if you know the code and where the buttons are, it's no big deal. . You also have the option to turn off the sound when pressing the buttons and lock and unlock the door using the keypad. We chose to leave it on as the beep will tell you the number was pressed and the lock recognized it. Overall, for a keyboard/smart lock that does NOT connect to wifi, the price is great and it works well. Personally, I decided that the price tag for the same type of lock that includes Wi-Fi just wasn't worth the extra cost.
