. We attached this dolly to the frame of our 3000-pound, 21-foot trailer, and it allowed me to maneuver the trailer into a storage space in our difficult driveway without the risk Maneuver. I wish the mountless version was available for less than the "Max" version which sells for around $600. That's probably what we REALLY need because we won't be traveling with that very heavy dolly attached to the trailer in the "stowed" position. To use this particular model you MUST mount the bracket to the trailer frame. the object to be moved. The fit on our trailer was OK but not perfect. The bracket "moved" slightly as the trailer moved, leaving a patch of paint to touch up and pinching the nearest brake cable, which turned out to be fine. thereafter. I had to maneuver our trailer in a flat arc of about 20 feet and a very slight incline of about 30 feet over old but decent asphalt. I'm a big strong man. And while I felt like I was "in control" of the trailer the whole time, I felt the maneuver required significant effort on my part. to keep the user in control on the slopes. Despite my best efforts, the brake lever slipped into the 'locked' position many times and had to be adjusted before the trailer would move again. This device worked for us, although I prefer one that does NOT require a mounting bracket. It is desirable that it be offered with similar characteristics and at a similar price.
