I am very happy with this gadget. Received today and installed immediately. It's really intuitive to use. Contrary to other reviews, I find the guide and negative holder to be pretty solid. The capture screen and menus are big enough to position the slide/negative/photo properly, but for the actual editing you really need another platform like your computer. But with the included SD card, transfer to the computer is very quick, or you can just leave the images on the card. The resolution of 22 MP is really good. This is actually a disadvantage for scanning photos around my house as there is so much dust and cat hair in the air and this scan will show it all no matter how thoroughly I wipe the scanning table and the photo sighs. One of the best things for me is the size. It's about 9.5 x 8 x 5.5 inches and fairly light. I can sit on my bed with my scan materials next to me and scan comfortably for hours and my back won't let me down. Here are some examples of what I scanned: 1) black and white negative, 2) color slide, 3) 5x7 photo.
