stoppers worked well. I have an elliptical machine under my desk and need to stabilize the chair so it doesn't resist the force of the legs that are impacting the chair. I considered using casters with brakes as an alternative, but for various reasons I decided to try these stoppers instead. The rollers fit into the recesses in the molded sling material and stay there despite my constant foot movement. I have vinyl tile on the floor. The only problem is that while the stoppers hold onto the vinyl quite well, they still don't fully hold if excessive force is applied. In other words, stoppers with more resistance on the bottom help a little more. But they are adequate, and any movement from them as a result of my surgeries on the elliptical trainer is kept to a minimum. In this regard, I would like to note that I can only stabilize the chair on the floor with two of them on opposite sides of the chair. My guess is that if one were to use them all, the movement of the chair could be smoother, i.e. quieter.
