Poor quality cheap paper.
The paper is actually very thin. This is a cheap look that smudges the lead even if you close it and let it touch another side. When I pulled the brand new item out of the box and opened it, the first page was already smudged, just the ink seeping through the envelope onto the paper. So it's good to practice and just play around. any work you wish to keep.
