Granddaughter slipped in the guest bath/shower, caught her foot on the pull out drain and needed stitches. This is a fiberglass Kohler bathtub with a textured bottom that does not prevent sliding. Bought a clear bath/shower mat and installed this moan support bar to keep future old guests from slipping. The tiled walls surrounding the Kohler bathtub were commercial porcelain, which I thought after an hour would have been impossible to drill into the masonry with a regular drill. Work made a dimple. Let's assume they work well on ceramic tiles. Bought a diamond drill bit from Home Depot which got the job done although each of the 5 holes drilled took a few minutes. In addition to being very hard, the tile is about 1/2 inch thick. Properly installed by attaching to a framing post behind the tile, this railing will support a very large adult person in and out of the tub.
