Review on Autoglym ID10 Instadry by Yung Kaelin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great new tool in my detailing arsenal!

As a parts enthusiast/consumer I was excited to hear about the Autoglym brand! This is a UK brand so shipping takes longer than my regular products that I buy through Amazon. I chose the ID10 Instadry Dry Towel and was not disappointed. Having used microfiber towelettes for so long, I'm used to "filling up" them with water before they start absorbing. It seems counterintuitive, but microfiber towels actually need to be damp before they start soaking up water from the car. ID10 Instadry is a little harder to work with initially because it's very stiff when dry, but once it gets a little wet it's a lot easier to work with and you don't need nearly as much of this stuff to do the same amount record. You can get water with a large microfiber cloth! As an OCD specialist, I try to avoid damaging the paintwork of a car I work on while it is drying. Autoglym recommends not washing ID10 unnecessarily, I was initially concerned that ID10 would retain dirt and residue that could scratch my paintwork, but this stuff is washable and doesn't seem to hold dirt like a microfiber cloth. Gone are the days of washing my drying towel after every use! My only complaint about this product is that it is fragile. By simply shaking to ensure there was no dirt on it after rinsing, the edges of the towel began to fray after a few shakes. I wring out the towel to dry it and I had no problems. I will not shake this towel out again and I really hope it doesn't fall apart again. I will let you know if I run into any problems.
