Surprisingly weatherproof.

I installed this on my Kohler 9.5hp log splitter. It's been outside under a tarpaulin for over a year and it's still working perfectly. The display dims when exposed to hotter, bright sun but returns when it cools down. This is typical and not a defect. The number of revolutions per minute is displayed when the engine is running and the number of operating hours when the engine is switched off. Easy installation with epoxy on the engine cover, wrap the wire around the spark plug cap to complete the installation. Easy.
