Review on 9pcs Oblique Tipped Paint Brushes Set for Acrylic Watercolor Oil Painting, Long Handle - Golden Maple Artist Paint Brushes Set by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Those would be good brushes at half the price. Serious.

I bought a set of 5 Zen Angle Brite brushes (model MR42A) from Royal Langnickel, a famous brand of art brushes, for $25 (about $5 per brush). In my experience, I've found these Golden Maple brushes (btw, my brushes are Bomeijia Model 802, not Golden Maple) to be just as good, if not slightly better, in shape and material quality, as well as application. Performance with Golden Heavy Body Acrylics. That's 9 brushes for $14 (about $1.50 per brush). In other words, this brush set would really be a steal at double the price. I previously bought the Hazelnut style brush set from Golden Maple and was (and still am) just as impressed. Incidentally, two out of five Royal & Langnickel MR42A angle razors failed, the tips came off the handle; none of these 9 Bhmeijia 802 corner brushes experienced a similar failure. (I use Zen brushes interchangeably with these "Golden Maple" Bomeijia 802.) A little tip: Golden Maple usually puts a large amount of temporary glue on the bristles to protect them during shipping, so the user should use that Expect that the brushes will be cleaned and washed twice before use. (This was true of these angled brushes, as was the Hazelnut set. And I'd add that my very best brushes - like Princeton Catalyst Polytips, Creative Mark Master Stroke Powercryls, and Creative Mark Berlins - all come with this protective thread glue. . In other words, the glue is a measure of quality, not a problem.

Pros
  • FLEXIBLE HAIR BRUSH: This brush set is made of high quality imported nylon wool, a nickel-plated copper tube and a wooden body. Hair with uniform color and shiny texture, easy to dye when dyeing, not deformed or subject to shedding, can be reused after proper washing.
