Consistent quality, silicone material goes to the edge. I use the Dream Baby Gate and the rounded ends fit perfectly. So far no problems with our drywall. I give 4 stars because it is very difficult to assemble it alone. It would be helpful to have an extra pair of hands to hold the product while mounting the gate to the wall. They keep falling off, neither glue nor material sticks to the gate. Everything else is great! This is not a product issue but ensure your space is wide enough to accommodate the width/depth of this guard and accommodate your gate. We have a standard toeboard and it's not wide enough to accommodate the guard, so the gate is higher than the toeboard (annoying to climb over).
