This vise goes well beyond what the average man needs, but I wanted something fairly large that would last almost forever would and is carried out in the state. My previous vise was a 4" vise from China that was only $70 and a 1940's Colombian vise that had seen better days (which I still have). got me hooked. I don't remember exactly what (and I'm sure I would have been just as happy with Wilton) but this vise was a great tool and I'm very happy with its performance. crafted and has a large throat. The feature is smooth as glass.
