Bench-mount machinist vise with swivel base, 6" nominal jaw width, and extra-large jaw opening and throat depth provides clamping action for heavy-duty applications. 360-degree swivel base adjusts the direction of the jaws for proper placement and locks in place. Ductile iron body is durable and strong for extended life. Jaws are grooved for enhanced grip and can be replaced when worn. Meets Fed. Spec. GGG-V-410B Type VI Class 2 specifications and is made in USA.

Bench Vise Worth every penny in Bench Vise

This vise goes well beyond what the average man needs, but I wanted something fairly large that would last almost forever would and is carried out in the state. My previous vise was a 4" vise from China that was only $70 and a 1940's Colombian vise that had seen better days (which I still have). got me hooked. Buy once, cry once - a tool for life that pays for itself many times over

Excellent vise. I tried many models including the Wilton before purchasing this one in 2011. The clamping force is impressive and I can even use it as a press for some small items. I attribute this to the high quality materials used in the vise and honestly I don't think a regular imported vise would hold up to such abuse. I needed a vise (No, not this vise. I've had enough of those already). And I categorically refused to put up my Chinese-made workbench (don't get me started). Before reading any further, please understand that this vise is actually made in the USA. If you don't care, don't read any further.
