Review on GEARWRENCH 10-Inch Pitbull K9 V-Jaw Dual Material Tongue And Groove Pliers - 82172C by Jason Fanney

Very nice set of slip joint pliers

This is a definite step up from my cheap Chinese set of slip joint pliers. Are these Knipex Cobras? No but they are still pretty nice. Mote about these pliers.* Size. 8 inch pliers are larger then your usual set pliers that come in Home Owners or other beginner sets; much closer to the standard size of Linesman (or trades specific) pliers. While, I do prefer a smaller length for the usual "around the house" use, these are still comfortable to hold.* Construction. Typical Gearwrench, which is quite good.* Features. Cross hatch jaw teeth, wire cutter, and a soft grip section built into the handle. (not as versatile as the main teeth but nice to have. Beats having to grab an old t-shirt so you don't wreck your nicely chromed plumbing.)* Slip joint nut. Riveted and flush which is a very nice feature to aid in access in tight spaces. Odd that there isn't a photo from that side and why I've included some in this review. All in all a very nice set of pliers that is a significant step up from your entry level set of pliers. Not tippity-top end, but still a nice upgrade without the costs associated with import or tool truck brands.
