I decided to purchase this NKTECH NK-HS2 inductive hour meter because it is actually a very easy device to install. And since I'm not installing it in a Honda alternator (which is probably more popular than my half the price Predator 2000), installation isn't that easy. I couldn't easily find a DIY video for the Predator. But I have a couple of these generators. Fitting it into the first unit was cryptic and quite difficult, mainly due to the very compact design I encountered. When I went into the second install I freed the spark plug wire and that helped a lot. Following the instructions helps, but it also requires some thoughtful ingenuity. Finally, after installation, I tested the generator. This gadget works. Six minutes equals one tenth of an hour. I can't say how long this meter's battery will last since it's basically always on. When the generator is running, you'll see the little icon toggle on and off. It works. The quality has not yet been tested by time.
