Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ SUNLU PETG Filament 1: Superior Additive Manufacturing Products and Premium 3D Printing Supplies by Shane Yay

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Printed objects are indistinguishable from Prusament or Hatchbox PETG

June 20, 2020: I gave this PETG filament 5 stars because the printed objects are indistinguishable from Prusament and Hatchbox PETG. I'm new to 3D printing. I am using the "Original Prusa i3 MK3S Kitโ€ which is Prusa's newest flagship 3D printer at the time of writing this article. I use an optional E3D V6 0.6mm nozzle and textured steel plate. I don't use binding agents (hairspray, glue stick, unicorn tears etc.). I'm using the default PrusaSlicer settings for Prusament PETG, except I changed the nozzle from 0.4 to 0.6mm and the layer height from 0.2 to 0.3mm. I still don't understand the other PrusaSlicer options so I left them stock. Printed objects with this thread are indistinguishable from similar prints with Prusament PETG or Hatchbox PETG, which I have also successfully used. I happened to check the diameter of this thread and it was about 1.75mm. I like how the Prusament and Hatchbox threads are wound very neatly. This SUNLU thread looks like it was handspun by someone rushing home. However, since the filament does not stick and print perfectly on its own, it seems unfair to deduct a star in the overall rating. ), but since Revain replaces it, I don't think the same applies to spoofing a star in the overall ranking. Again, I am very new to 3D printing and only use Prusament PETG filament presets from PrusaSlicer, but so far I cannot distinguish similar objects printed with this filament from Prusament PETG or Hatchbox PETG.
