Review on Fit System 80225 Replacement Backing by Luckie Davidson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Good price but not perfect

A motorcyclist who was clearly having a bad day (or life) in LA was doing 80-85mph. My wife signaled to change lanes to the left and, no kidding, about 10 seconds later, an oncoming driver next to us slowed down and smashed my wife's mirror. It was confusing and I was afraid that driver would have cost us hundreds of dollars in damage to the wired mirror. However, this relatively versatile interchangeable mirror saved the day. It was about twenty dollars so it wasn't bad at all. However, the instructions were really confusing and I pushed the replacement mirror so hard I thought it was going to break. I heard a click, but it turned out fine. This meant the mirror was attached BUT with the adjustment knob in the car the mirror only moves left and right, not up and down. I have a feeling that if I squeeze the mirror even more, the up and down adjustment can be fixed, but then I'm really worried that the mirror might break. So overall this is a good and cheap replacement for the mirror, but the instructions require some work and it doesn't appear to be a 100% equivalent replacement for the original mirror.

Pros
  • OE quality, fit and function
Cons
  • Protection
