One size doesn't fit all

Satisfied the product does not have its sole function. It consists of two parts. One wraps around the ankle and the other attaches to the shoe. Attachment to shoes is the main issue. This is achieved by inserting a flexible plastic pad between the laces. The plastic piece is quite wide and doesn't fit because the tongue of my boots is connected to the body of the boot for almost the entire length, so I had to trim it to fit, but it doesn't matter. The "springy" strap that connects the plastic insert to the ankle brace has little to no stretch. After inserting it near the top of the shoe, it offered no buoyancy, so I moved it to the second position from the top. Note that this is the only customization you can make. This seemed normal until after a few steps, the bottom of the plastic insert slipped out from under the laces, causing the strap to sag again. The plastic base needs to be longer to prevent this. When I trimmed the base I changed the width, not the length, so that's not the problem. The end result is that this orthosis cannot work with my shoes. I already cut out the plastic insert so I doubt it can be returned. I'll take a look. If you decide to try it, be aware that the ankle area is very small. I'm of average height and barely long enough to wrap around my ankle.

Pros
  • NO stretch movement - ankle wrap raises toes and keeps ankle straight supporting foot on lift, showing visible improvements in gait and allowing individual to walk comfortably with straps on straps
Cons
  • Upgrades
