I bought this for my 1997 4Runner. can prevent the sun visor from closing completely. I put it on the passenger side so it doesn't obstruct my view. It can carry significant weight without moving the sun visors on my 20 year old SUV. I have: sunglasses, 3 pens, a small aluminum screwdriver and a small first aid kit securely and loosely attached. Keep in mind that it's not a lot of weight, but it's a snug fit.
