I don't have much experience with ear tips other than the standard foam ones. I tested them on our loud piano and they seemed good at reducing volume but retaining sonic detail! I got up and talked to my boyfriend for a bit and I could hear him clearly and it was just a tad quieter than usual. I have tiny ears and can't usually put rubber earbuds in my ears but these fit surprisingly well. They seem to get nice and snug, and after a few tries, it's easy to tell where the optimal spot in the ear is. If they are too far away, the lip of the largest dome will cut into the ear and cause discomfort (which is normal as they probably shouldn't be that far away anyway). The pull tab can get caught by long hair, but the pull tab is detachable and the earbuds are easy to remove when the cable is attached to it.
