The Park Tool FR-5.2G Cassette Locking Tool is a professional tool. The snap ring tool is the essential tool that should be in your home bike kit. The FR-5.2G is well made and should last a lifetime, maybe 2. It's made from durable, heat-treated tool steel with 12 splines to fit Shimano, Stan, and SunRace cassettes and some Shimano Twilight brake rings. Its diameter is about 23.4 mm. The 5mm diameter guide pin is designed for use with hollow quick release slots. The guide pin helps stabilize the tool during use. This is very useful when removing an old, stuck or rusty cartridge. The FR-5.2G can be used with an adjustable 1" (25.4mm) wrench or socket. The ratchet cannot connect directly to the FR-5.2GI, which used the FR-5.2G when upgrading my Shimano 8- gear cassette to a SunRace 10 speed cassette I have used the FR-5.2 before (no pin guide) and really appreciate the pin guide I know there are other cheaper cassette tools out there but for that which I will use for regular maintenance like cleaning I believe the little extra cost is worth the little extra cost for Park Tool quality.Removing and cleaning your cassette is an often overlooked and forgotten step in bike maintenance.Removing regularly and Cleaning the cassette is easy and doesn't take much time.This will definitely not only extend the life of your cassette but also the rest of the drive train.Thank you for taking the time my read review.
