Great stuff for Xbox systems

I didn't use this for the 360. I actually used it for my PC. Here are a few things you need to know if you want to do this. You must have a good computer. (It doesn't have to be great. But a great graphics card and a good PC are very useful.) Next. You need to buy a special cable. Even if you have a cable with you. A regular computer's USB port is too weak to power it, so you NEED an external power supply. You can get them on Amazon, just search for the Xbox Kinect Power Adapter. Alright, let's get started. Connect it to a power source. Connect it to your computer. Wait a few minutes. Normally Windows will find it and the driver for you and you're done. If not, all you have to do is find the driver, which is easy. Just search for a Kinect for Windows or Xbox 360 for PC driver. You can find them easily. Now that it's installed, the magic can happen! In itself it is a fantastic webcam. But when combined with other programs like Iclone, it makes for a fantastic mocap studio. Great for whatever you need. I also have a Playstation Eye but it can't compete with this one. The PS Eye has no motor, so you can move the camera without touching it. Also, the Xbox 360 Kinect focuses faster than the PS Eye. Now I love both and the PS Eye is a great webcam and having a clip to attach it to my monitor makes it light and portable. But kinect 360 gives a much better picture. It also feels a lot more solid than the PS Eye. It might just be the weight, as neither of them seem fragile, it's just that the compound seems to lift so much better. It doesn't appear to be sensitive. (Don't take it by the pole, though. It's just not a good idea. Take it by the base.) So if you're looking for a cheap mockup solution, a quick camera for fun, or just want to get back to using it your 360 Kinect. This guide should work for you too. I know I will have a lot of fun with it!

Pros
  • Xbox 360
Cons
  • Big and bulky
