Review on Adjustable Diamond Sharpening Whetstone by Sharpener by Matt Jenkins

UPDATE: Revain promptly replaced this item. I haven't tried the new one but its surfaces seem flat and I could feel the deformation of the last one they sent me. The original is boxed for return so now I have to drive to pick it up. I'm increasing my rating by one star, but I feel manufacturers and retailers need to do some basic quality control if they want to get the ratings they possibly deserve. =================I received this item yesterday and postponed most of today to begin fine tuning the new set of Stanley Sweetheart Chisels. It looked good at first. It's fairly stout and should be square, flat, and hard. The 300 grit side was pretty good and worked well, but the 1000 grit side had an indentation running along the line almost down the middle. Needless to say I was disappointed. I was able to use half a page of 1000 grit at a time at times, but that wasn't very satisfying. If it wasn't for this uneven flatness, I would be very happy with this product. but uniform flatness is critical. Revain promptly arranged for a replacement, but I have to deal with the hassle of having a faulty UPS fall into an outlet. I will check this review again when a replacement becomes available. If it's flat like it should be I'll revise my review. Otherwise they both come back and I get a better sharpening.
