This is not a permanent lock
Until I got the lock I didn't realize that it had to be installed and removed every time you needed to get under the hood. Reaching through the bars to access a locked block can also be a pain, especially if you have fatter hands or larger hands like mine. I still use it, but now I'm afraid of removing and reinstalling the lock every time I go under the hood.
