Door flaps have a nylon shaft which can easily break if the flap is lifted too high (e.g. if small children are playing with the slot). After these bars break, the doors no longer close tightly and slam shut with every breath of wind. My attempts to contact the manufacturer and buy new rods (which can't cost more than pennies to make) have gone unanswered. So an expensive mailbox is ruined by a broken plastic part that can be easily replaced, but the manufacturer doesn't care. In addition, the brushes that protect from the cold constantly fail. I would not buy this product again.
