Very easy to work with. We covered our entire yard with it and it did a wonderful job of keeping the weeds out. The holes in it are just from an accidental hit with a shovel and a few too-persistent aspen shoots. (Don't plant aspen in your yard. Just don't do it.) The kids and the pup even walk all over the yard and haven't made a single hole that I see. Now in mid-July we only have a handful of weeds left. pull out of the immediate planting hole. The plants perform exactly as intended and don't look overworked or under-watered. We have 4 gallon drippers aimed at each plant hole, but I'm interested to see if that was necessary or if our regular sprinkler irrigation would allow for adequate watering of the plants. Update: At the end of the growing season, we were still in love. with black plastic as a weed block. We even left a bit on a strip of land, but in the spring it was pretty torn. So this only really works for one growing season, but it's worth it. We just pushed it back to this year.
