
This thing has been driving me insane for a week. (Yes, I spent too much time debugging it) The board transmits and receives normally on the TOWN (loopback), but after much research (O-Scope and logic analyzer) it turned out that all baud rates are from this board were wrong. I finally found a datasheet for the chip used on this board (MCS9900CV) and it turned out that the chip was WAITING for a 30MHz crystal to clock the serial port. (see data sheet page 38) My board was built with 25 MHz quartz. I've spent a lot of time looking for this and now I'm out of the return window. FAIL.
