This is the best automotive thread sealant. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor on a 2004 GMC Envoy 4.2L I6 Atlas engine (one of GM's quietest idle engines). I ordered a factory part from GM and replaced it. The next day I noticed a coolant leak. The factory part comes with white thread sealant, dry, the threads are ready to install. However, the seal did not work properly. I removed the part and inspected it visually. I haven't seen any issues with threads. I ran the thread to make sure there were no burrs. I then applied this thread sealant to the threads, making sure I only covered the same area as the factory thread sealant. You don't want to cover all the strands as you will lose electrical ground. After installation, I monitored leaks every day for a week. Problem solved!
