Lasts 2 years before fading. I think 60% less than new. Now I have to admit that in two years I've knocked it over about 10 times in my saltwater pool. So it's about water. BUT the reason I bumped it into the tank is because the hand holding it is weak. He had two adjustable elbows that allowed him to adjust the angle of his glow. This elbow has small plastic grooves that keep it in place. So yeah, I touched the light, but not that hard, and the damn thing fell into the water. Multiple times. I bought a new one. Have had this for many months now. The hinge holds better so it hasn't ended up in the water (yet).
