We live in the mountains and every winter wood smoke comes into the house. When we first moved into the house, the smoke was so heavy that I felt as if my body temperature and blood pressure rose at night while I slept. Instead of trying to check and adjust the air pressure in the room, which is almost impossible, I put this filter on each exhaust port. On a bad day I can still smell the smoke, but it's a lot less than before and I can't "see" the smoke anymore. Along with a portable air purifier, this is an inexpensive way to solve the problem. I also have the assurance that not a single bug will enter through the vent.
