Background: I switched to razors for beard trimming because it's easier and gentler than a razor (you can google what a razor is if you don't know ) and I have several European razors. I decided to try this razor because I read that the quality of the steel is great and that it's a good price, and boy are they telling the truth! For Beginners: This razor is not suitable for shaving unless otherwise stated (and even then familiar), NO razors are supplied "ready to shave", they all must be properly sharpened, sharpened and maintained - this is industry regulation, that EVERYONE should understand and understand knows! Anyone who simply "buys" a razor and puts it to their face is doing something dangerous and stupid and should be encouraged to do their homework - it could literally save you some skin. This is a functional razor, it's not flawless. A work of art, it's made for use but I felt the overall aesthetics were totally worth the price and in no way detracts from use. If you're looking for a "nice" razor, it might be pretty enough to impress, but it's not a work of art, and you're paying for that work of art - a lot of money. My Experience: This razor arrived and the first thing I noticed was that it was properly aligned with its shed - it closed dead center which made it a very useful tool. The second thing I noticed was that their main sharpening (the most important sharpening on a straight razor) was right in the middle, so I was able to sharpen it. without much work (required some work on the heel/leg of the blade to get it right) The end result is a $20.00 razor that shaves as well as the most expensive razors I own. Will she keep the edge? It has definitely helped the last 3 shaves I've had with it and for 20.00 I don't care I can literally buy 10 of these or more for the price of a Meisterstück razor and with these if I drop one or hurt someone, I don't care because I can still afford one. I buy this brand and I will buy another, the quality of the steel allows you to take advantage and keep it, the quality of production is high enough that the razor is good as a functional tool. 5 stars are certainly not a purchase that I do not regret at all.
