Great razor but first you'll work on the edge

Okay so it's made in China. But the Chinese have good steel. If you want to sharpen it properly, you'll need to sand down the heel stabilizers a bit. So pull out your dremmel or get ready to sharpen on a diamond plate for a while. It's not ready for shaving. It is cheap, but due to the mods required, it becomes difficult for beginners. Loops full of rumble. The carbon steel is of good quality but the grit is only adequate. The hardness of the blade is compatible with Philharmonic or some…

Excellent razors

I'm a razor novice. So I have no idea what crazy prices are. I bought 4 of these between Amazon and Ebay. This is the most expensive. This one is my favourite. The other three took a lot of whetstone work to trim even the peachy down, not to mention the sideburns. I still feel like it shaves better than these. They had thick blades, sharp as a factory butter knife. This one is sharper but I made the edge from scratch. This blade becomes thin at half width, like a razor blade. The rest had a V…

Quality Control Edition

We would like to inform your company that despite the reasonable price, this product has a critical defect. The problem is that the blade itself has a potentially dangerous defect. there was a defect at the front end of the blade. It was actually a small crack, correctly identified by touch and visual inspection. The item should never be sold in this condition.

  • Large Selection

Absolutely delighted with the shaver!

With all the reviews you hear good and bad. I had straight razors made in China and they were actually heavy pocket knives. Most reviews said stay away from Chinese razors. However, one of them said that the gold dollar could be polished and used. At such a cheap price ($12.00), I decided to try one out to find out for myself. I ordered one and it arrived very quickly. Looks nice. A little on the heavy side. I would hardly shave the hair on my arms out of the box. It was a real razor so I…

Great razor - not just value for money

Background: I switched to razors for beard trimming because it's easier and gentler than a razor (you can google what a razor is if you don't know ) and I have several European razors. I decided to try this razor because I read that the quality of the steel is great and that it's a good price, and boy are they telling the truth! For Beginners: This razor is not suitable for shaving unless otherwise stated (and even then familiar), NO razors are supplied "ready to shave", they all must be…

neat razor. Perfect for getting started with shaving.

This razor is very good for its price. I've had it for a few months now and I renew it every time I shave. It's good, although I have to say it doesn't make my face look very smooth. Maybe I'm not very experienced or it needs sanding before use which I didn't do, just refreshed. I oil it every time after use and leave it very dry and it shows rust. but overall I'm happy with it. note: there is no black and red mark on the blade. it's only silver

A good beginner razor that will help you in the future.

Looking for a good entry-level razor, here it is. I just got mine and after spending some time with my whetstones and belt I was about to shave. Yes, you have to sharpen. Good skill unless you know someone who will do it for you, but you really need to learn how to take care of it yourself. There are good tutorials on YouTube. I enjoy using my gold dollar and will be using it for a while but I know I will switch to a more expensive razor one day but for now I'm learning from it. About the…

Ideal for improving your shaving skills.

. I didn't expect it to be sharp. That's why I have whetstones and belts. For such a low price this is the perfect training blade.

Pros
  • Good assembly.
Cons
  • . Obsolete model.
