My 7 year old son is a skinny kid 50 inches tall and weighs just over 50 pounds (regardless of how much he eats) and they fit him EASY. They definitely kept him afloat, but the shirt came close to being the wrong size. They're perfect for the summer while he keeps learning to swim. If you want something less restrictive than Stern's chest and arms for a strong but not strong enough swimmer, these are perfect. However when they talk about the age of 4-6 I believe that is correct as my son is thinner than a typical 7 year old. One star off as the size and color options are limited. Offer neon lights to help you see your baby better. If the swimmers are holding more than 60 pounds, make a larger shirt.
