It was meant to be hung on the front seat but I hung mine on the back of the seat and it worked fine. Bought it before riding in a crowded car with friends. Knowing the car was going to be cramped, I didn't want the organizer to take up too much space or reduce rear seat legroom by hanging it over the front seat backrest. This worked great. It's pulled around the headrest without the passenger in the passenger seat even knowing they're there. I was able to set it high and tighten the strap so it doesn't wobble and wobble when the car moves. Because it's short, it didn't restrict legroom at all like a full-size organizer would. There are plenty of pockets and they are deep enough for most things I wanted to store but always have handy such as sunscreen, sunglasses, small binoculars, my camera, tissues, hand sanitizer etc. The largest pocket fit my tablet and could probably big enough for file folders. I was able to slip a fairly large water bottle and an umbrella into the mesh pockets and the drawstring closure kept them secure. I even found space for my mini drawing pad and pencil case. This organizer was a little more expensive than some of the others I found. But it is very well made and also more attractive than most. It looks good, keeps things off the floor and hasn't fallen out yet.
