Review on Seiko Women's SYMC21 Seiko 5 Automatic Stainless Steel Watch with Silver Dial by Morgan Gilmore

Revainrating 3 out of 5

running forward and face hard to read

I got tired of changing the watch batteries and then my watch rusts because it is no longer waterproof, and I wear it when running and exercising. So I bought this one because it looked exactly what I needed and I also like the idea of not having a battery at all. The main negative comment on Revain reviews is that it doesn't keep time well and I can attest to this issue. Since I run it, I estimate I run it more than the average person, so it runs a little less than 1 minute a day; At the end of each week I'm already more than 5 minutes ahead. I guess that's a better problem than lagging behind. Also, the dial is really hard to read. I've been trying to understand why that is. I think it's because of the shiny silver hour and minute hands on a matte silver background. You have to tilt your face to match the lighting conditions in the room to see where your hands are, and it's never the same tilt as the lighting conditions are constantly changing. Strangely, the second hand is red and always easy to see! Seiko Tip: Make the hour and minute hands black so they stand out. Why not return? The packaging said that if you altered it in any way, it was non-returnable; We had to take out 8 segments of the bracelet to fit my wrist and it was only when wearing it that I discovered these issues. But I still give them 3 stars because I love the style, I love the idea of never winding the watch and I thought it was a decent price for a solid Seiko.
