I can't lie, it's too rough for my neck. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes I have issues with massagers being either too strong or worse, too weak. It's definitely a massage, but it hurts a little after using it a few times. You can also use it on other parts of the body if you have sensitive skin around your neck. My husband has no problem with it and likes to use it for his back, neck and shoulders. It is beautifully packaged and definitely worth a gift.
