Tool needed modification for 5.4L 2V Expedition 1998-2002.
This was for the timing chain and guides on my 1999 5.4L 2V Expedition. This check should be applied to 1998-2002 2V 5.4L engines when replacing the chain/guides. You will immediately notice that the tool's handle is too long and is blocked by the air conditioning compressor, causing the tool to not fit properly. You can either do what I did, which is shave 1/4 inch of the metal off the handle to clean the AC compressor. I believe another option would be to remove the air conditioning compressor from the engine block. If you don't do both, you'll get angry.
