The switch appears to be of decent quality and is best suited for use in dry conditions. I wouldn't use it outdoors. The switch was easy to install after figuring out the wiring diagrams that came with the kit. Several people have given different tips for wiring the switch in their reviews, but I've found that it only works if I've followed the instructions (rather than using "tips" from some other reviews that didn't work for me ). I don't know how long this switch will last, but so far it's working and I'm happy with it. I even bought a second one.
