Review on Motormeters® Digital Back Light Meter Tachometer by Kevin Parker

Very good idea for a small outboard, I can now adjust the idle screw to the recommended 900rpm. And I see how much time I spend on the engine to keep it in good condition. It is easy to install and runs on batteries. I would recommend it, especially for small tiller outboards or applications where you need to make sure you are logging engine hours. I would love to install a new motor but now I can only estimate how long it was on before I installed it. The tachometer is excellent and I found my engine idling about 150 rpm lower than the manual says. Also, I see in WOT that the motor is not approaching maximum RPM. I used it about 4 hours (working time) at the lake. it was damp, didn't fog up and didn't work.
