Review on BenQ BL2420PT 23.8" Widescreen DisplayPort Monitor - 2560X1440 Resolution, IPS Panel, Built-In Speakers, USB Hub by Mike Martines

Revainrating 3 out of 5

2K Monitor - OK for the price (3.5 stars) / update

UPDATE Something new is happening with the monitor: when I open an email on my Mac, the body of the email turns black so I can't read the content. If I "forward" the email, the content is displayed. I usually work with the Mac closed, but when I open it, the email is displayed correctly on the Mac. When I close it, the email appears as a black area on the screen. I'm still looking for a solution.******************************************** ** *** ****** ********** I would rate this product 3.5 stars out of 5. I was looking for a 2K monitor with VESA mount and wanted VIEWSONIC but in the description I wasn't sure if they have VESA mount so I chose BENQ.PROS. Resolution, color and brightness are good; They have different types of connectors (I use HDMI and a DisplayPort) which adds flexibility, but only offers one HDMI which might be a stumbling block for some. The menus are easy to navigate, but some options, such as B. higher resolutions are difficult to adjust. I believe they are using new technologies in this monitor but the case/housing is from the 90's. This is a thick monitor (nearly 2.5 inches); Drivers/Documentation are provided on CD/DVD and the monitor appears to be out of date. In terms of performance, I haven't had any problems so far, the 3D animation works well, but flickers. The color accuracy also looks good. and achieved very good results when connected to a GFORCE RTX 2060 graphics card. Overall I think it's good value for money, but not the best. I would invest a few bucks more and get a Viewsonic or LG/Dell monitor. It's supposed to be a good entry-level 2K monitor.
