Well! Working - Electrical

This is a standard US push button switch lamp socket. I used it to replace a similar socket on my rotary switch gooseneck lamp. I find the push button switch more convenient to use. This switch makes a pretty loud click when pressed. This is definitely not a silent switch. Installation was easy. All you have to do is remember, and better yet, write down which cord goes to the gold screw and which to the silver one. I used a black marker to mark the cable at the gold screw and used my iPhone to take photos before taking it apart. Also, in my lamp I had to reuse the original cartridge case as it was screwed into the lamp head. I then had to use metal snips to cut a hole on the other side of the reusable shell for the switch to fit through. It took me a total of 20 minutes to complete the entire task. I'm an old lady, if I can do it, so can you. Very happy with the result. Very happy with the price including home delivery. There are videos on YouTube that show the entire process (apart from an excerpt). Snips tools (these are heavy-duty scissors that cut metal) are handy to have at home and are around $15 at Home Depot or maybe here at Revain. For those reviewers who have complained about cardboard insulation, cardboard insulation has been the standard for this type of electrical equipment for many years. Cardboard is inexpensive and gets the job done safely. My gooseneck lamp is 40 years old and had cardboard insulation in the original housing.
