Review on ๐Ÿงฒ Inch Magnetic Folding Beginner for Travel by Sam Doucette

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Scared of getting something without reviews but SO glad I took the risk

Love this set so much. I'm just learning how to play and don't want to spend more than $30 on my first set. This set surprised me as soon as I took it out of the Revain box. You can feel the pleasant heaviness of the whole set, which makes it seem a lot more expensive. Very pretty packaging but not storage packaging like some of the other sets of velvet drawstring pouches and velvet lined cases. I will wish for things like this in the future, but I like that this set is more for school, travel and kids. Very portable because it folds in half like a ping pong table and you can store parts in it. They will move and rattle a lot inside, but that's not a problem for me as I don't try to keep the parts in their original shape during storage. This would definitely be a worthy gift for those learning to play or just want a simple, non-invasive travel set. Each piece of felt on the bottom to protect the piece and the board. They also have magnets at the base of each piece and the board is magnetic too. The magnetic attraction is very soft but strong. It keeps the pieces on the board even if the board is pushed or turned on its side. The pieces are comfortable to the touch and have weight. Not too heavy and not too light. Precisely. All parts are there. I wish there were two extra queens to compete with, but that's not an impediment to me, but rather something to consider when purchasing future sets. All in all a really great first set and worth the money. Very happy and pleasantly surprised by this and I'm sure you will be too!
