My expectations in this category are high. The market for color laser printers is very developed and I think HP could do more to make the printer work better. Namely noise level, software and delivery costs. I upgraded from a 2600n that was ready for the new toner. It's crazy that I can buy this new printer for less than the cost of a set of cartridges for the old one. The two devices are about the same noise level, but the new one is about half as loud, which is nice. My main gripe with HP relates to the software. As many have said, the printer driver installation process is bad. Very bad. This takes a long time and gives no indication to the installer that it is working. It looks like they just hung the car. Seriously, 10-20 minutes to install what is actually a very small piece of software is just ridiculous. It installed fine on Windows Vista and Win7 but seemed to freeze on my Windows XP laptop. This eventually corrupted the print spooler system, which had to be rebuilt. HP if you are reading this review please fix this software mess! You love your hardware, but these drivers are terrible. Oh yes, we have a pair of iPads at home and tested out the ePrint feature that comes with this printer. Works as advertised but we don't use it as much as we thought it would.
